AMA Congratulates Ryan Dungey & Jeremy Martin

At the conclusion of the 2015 Lucas Oil AMA Professional Motocross National Championship series on Saturday, Aug. 22, in Crawfordsville, Ind., two riders stood as champions: Ryan Dungey in the 450 class and Jeremy Martin in the 250 class.

The American Motorcyclist Association congratulates both Dungey, from Tallahassee, Fla., and Martin, from Millville, Minn., on these historic triumphs.

Ryan Dungey 2015 Motocross Champion

“The hard work, talent, drive and dedication required to win a professional motocross championship are rare commodities, and clearly Ryan Dungey and Jeremy Martin have what it takes to loft this year’s AMA National No. 1 plates with justifiable pride,” said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “On behalf of the AMA, our board of directors and our members, it’s my pleasure to congratulate Ryan, Jeremy and their teams on jobs well done.”

Dungey, who rides for Red Bull KTM, clinched his third premier class 450 title at the previous round in Tooele, Utah. Martin, who rides for Star Racing Yamaha, wrapped up his second consecutive 250 class championship at the finale in Crawfordsville, Ind.

In addition, the AMA thanked MX Sports for organizing another entertaining and competitive season. MX Sports is the promotional body for the AMA Professional Motocross Championship Series.

“From the riders to the teams to the safety crew to the sponsors and tracks, a number of individuals and groups must work together for a successful season,” Dingman said. “At the center of it all for professional motocross is MX Sports, and once again they have done an excellent job as the promotional organizer for the series.”
